Harvesters Food Bank
In year 2020, the coronavirus outbreak was an eye opener for me as all attempt to contain this deadly virus failed which led to a “global” pandemic. During the lockdown period, I volunteered with the covid relieve support team at the Harvesters Food Bank that fed over 1000 people daily. It was challenging and physically demanding exercise but an interesting experience of my life through service to humanity. During this period, I was opportune to meet with people of different culture, sex, and age bracket (children, youth, and the elderly) and in the process I further developed better interpersonal skills. My love for environmental sustainability increased my quest to explore knowledge into helping humanity, especially my country to prepare and respond to natural disasters and assist in negotiating financial assistance to combat issues caused by climate change.
